Visit of the President of the Constitutional Court of Armenia to Strasbourg

On November 14-16 Mr. Gagik Harutyunyan, the President of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Armenia, paid a working visit to Strasbourg.

During a visit the President of the Constitutional Court of Armenia met the newly elected President of the European Court of Human Rights Mr. D.Spielmann. Mr G.Harutyunyan congratulated Mr. D.Spilmann on occasion of his election as the President of the Court. At the meeting they have discussed the issues related to the organization of a conference to be held in Yerevan at the beginning of July 2013, entitled "European legal criterion and margin of appreciation of the national authorities in the member states of the Council of Europe". The President of the Constitutional Court of Armenia invited the President of the European Court of Human Rights to participate in that conference.

During a meeting with the President of the Venice Commission Mr. G.Buquicchio both sides stressed the important role of the Commission in expertise of the draft laws of the Republic of Armenia, noted with appreciation the high level of the contacts and deepening and development of the relations as well as they touched upon the participation of the President of the Venice Commission and its staff members in the conference to be organized in Yerevan at the beginning of July 2013.
