Meeting of the Permanent Representative of Armenia with the Commissioner of the Council of Europe for Human Rights

On September 13 the Permanent Representative of Armenia to the Council of Europe Paruyr Hovhannisyan had a meeting with the Commissioner for Human Rights Nils Muiznieks.

Ambassador Hovhannisyan highly appreciated work done by the Commissioner in protection of human rights in Europe and reassured the support of Armenia in full implementation of his mandate.

Commissioner Muiznieks briefly presented his working program, speaking about the current challenges, particularly in the framework of migration crisis and fight against terrorism.

The interlocutors touched upon the recent developments in Armenia. The Permanent Representative of Armenia spoke about the constitutional reform and institutional changes resulting from that, particularly emphasizing issues connected with further raising of effectiveness of the protection of human rights.
