The Prime Minister receives delegation led by PACE President

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received a delegation led by the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Theodoros Rousopoulos.

The Prime Minister welcomed the visit of the PACE President, highlighting the activities of the Assembly and the ongoing discussions.

Theodoros Rousopoulos assessed the cooperation with Armenian parliamentarians as highly effective and expressed hope that it will continue successfully.

During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the ongoing democratic reforms in Armenia and the Government’s steps aimed at improving human rights protection mechanisms.

The Head of the PACE Delegation highly appreciated the steps being taken to ensure the irreversibility of democratic processes in Armenia, reaffirming PACE’s readiness to continue cooperation and support.

The interlocutors discussed issues related to regional developments. Prime Minister Pashinyan touched upon the fact of reaching an agreement on the peace agreement with Azerbaijan and emphasized that Armenia is committed to the peace agenda and is ready to sign it.

At the end of the meeting, the importance of deepening dialogue and multilateral cooperation for the benefit of regional stability and peace was emphasized.
